Home made vanilla pudding with a delicious red berry sauce

It's not that I haven't been cooking and baking at all in the last couple of weeks. Not at all: we've had a great apple-Streuselkuchen, home-made pesto with fresh pasta from our local farmer's market. Yesterday, we had dinner guests and Christoph and I prepared something simple but delicious: Bruschetta for the first couse and gnocchi with white-wine and broccoli sauce as a main dish. So good - to die for. But last Sunday, we made horrible stuffed white-cabbage-rolls. They, uuh , came with a not-at-all-eatable-worchester-red-eine-sauce, horrible I tell you! We did not even try to do something with the sauce. And the worst about it: It took us 2 hours to make them!!! And the cookbook suggested 50 min for preparation.... You can imagine that I did not want to share that kind of a recipe with you!

You might say: ONE thing did not work out and she's not telling me how she made all the other great stuff?

And, yes, you're right. And you know what? I am really sorry!
BUT, it was months ago the sun last shined. We had to go through weeks and weeks of steady rain, just interrupted by fog and, well, fog again and the one thing I've only seen in Münster before: wet air! Yes, sometimes it's neither raining nor foggy, but tiny little drops of water are hanging in the air. If you can not imagine this just visit Münster on an ordinary day in February.
Well, not this week. The sun is shining as if she had to win a smiling contest. People are in the streets and the downtown area and the nearby walking paths around the lake are crowded like there's no tomorrow. I am happier when I see the sun. So please do not complain. I had to leave the house and had to neglect this site to see the sun, get some fresh air and to be in a good mood for a new delicious recipe.

And, here it is:

home-made vanilla pudding with berry sauce
serves 3-4 (we managed to eat it - just the two of us)
for

400 ml milk
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp Vanilla-Extract
3 Tbsp corn starch
1 egg

about 100g mixed (frozen) Berries
4 Tbsp. water

1. Mix 3-4 Tbsp. of the milk with the corn starch. Separate the egg.
2. Bring the milk, together with the sugar and he vanilla to a boil. Add corn starch and the egg-yolk and simmer for about 5 min. Set aside and let it cool while preparing the rest.
3. In a second pot heat the water and the berries and puree them to be a sauce.
4. Beat the egg white until it is very stiff. Add it to the pudding and stir until you can't see any flakes of eggwhite.
