Make your own "pesto rosso" in just 5 minutes
auf Deutsch

I still remember the day I first ate pesto. Christoph and I were just
together for a couple of weeks and I was visiting him for the weekend.
He told me, that he eats pasta (almost) every night. Sometimes with a
creamy tomato sauce, sometimes with fresh vegetables and sometimes with
pesto.
Now I can't even imagine how it had happened, that I've never eaten
pesto before. This simple but delicious Italian interpretation of fast
food: Pasta with pesto (and maybe a little extra parmigiano).
In the last couple of years, I've learned a lot:
How to prepare ( that you have to mix the pesto with a little extra virgin olive oil, drain the pasta and put it back in the hot pan. THEN add the pesto and
stir it before putting it onto one (or two) plates.)
which pesto and which kind of pasta to use and a lot about Italien men that claim they are able to cook.
And, finally, I've learned how to make pesto myself:
red pesto
1/2 cup roasted sunflower seeds
1 1/2 cup sundried tomatoes
25g (frozen) basil
1 clove of garlic
3-4 Tbsp of extra vergin olive oil
mix everything in the blender
(Do not usa an immersion-/hand-blender, this is going to be a mess!)
